The first section of this volume contains papers from the symposium 'Living in a Fire Prone Environment' which was organised by the Linnean Society of NSW and ANZASS (NSW), with financial assistance from the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. The symposium was held in March 1995 at the University of New South Wales. Papers in this section were sub-edited by Helene Martin.
The second section of this volume contains research reports submitted for publication in accordance with the publication procedures of the society, which can be obtained from the secretary or from the editor, M.L Augee.
The Proceedings of the Linnean Society of NSW are no longer published in parts and each issue represents a separate volume.
